Aspects of gauge-strings duality

Abstract: I will start with a pedagogical introduction of Duality (in Physics) and AdS/CFT as an application of these ideas. After that and more technically, I will discuss how one can use some techniques developed by string theorists to study non perturbative aspects of Quantum Field Theories that undergo phenomena like confinement, symmetry breaking, screening, etc. The examples discussed will be taken from the papers I published in the last year.
